Thea Neal - 2003

I just wanted to let you all know that I am studying abroad this semester in Dakar, Senegal. I have set up a on-line journal where I can I can post updates about my experience. The address is www.xanga.com/grizzlythea Hopefully, there will be pictures posted soon.

The bare-bone details: I am taking classes through CIEE (a study abroad program) with about 40 other students from schools in the U.S. at Suffolk University here in Dakar. I am taking courses in Senegalese Culture and Society, Development Economics, Field Research Seminar, Wolof (the local language here) and French. In addition, I will be interning with an organization that focuses on gender and AIDS. We are living with Senegalese host families, who have welcomed us into their homes with the warmest hospitality that I've ever experienced. My host mom does not speak French (or English), so I will have to be a quick student of Wolof to communicate with her! so please do send emails, letters or owls with updates on how you are doing! LINDSEY FOLWARSKI -2002

You can visit Lindsey everyday now, if you're a second grader! Lindsey has just finished getting her classroom ready at Hartley Elementary in Waseca, Minnesota. She will still be living and commuting from Mankato, a simple 20 mile drive. Lindsey graduated from Mankato State in May of 2006.

Seems things are going well for Libby and Chad. Libby is putting on weight as we speak. Not do to new and increased eating habits, rather as they will be bringing a new little one into the world sometime around December 11!

In case you've been in Siberia, Word is that Andrea is engaged (lucky guy) and planning a June 2007 wedding. After graduating from UW-River Falls in Dec. 2005 (Elementary Education degree- who'd have guessed that one!), she moved to Anoka, Minnesota. She is currently subbing in local school districts.

ALEX HEALTON - 2002

ALEX HEALTON just stopped by. He has attained the rank of Senior at St. Cloud State (at least they haven't told him otherwise)! He is persueing a degree in Studio Art.
